How to interpret your GRE Scores: The GRE test results comprise four kinds of scores, namely: the total score, score for the Verbal segment, the Quantitative segment and the Analytical Writing Assessment.
The average score for the Verbal section is about 470 whereas for the Quantitative section, it is about 570. As far as the Analytical Writing Assessment is concerned, it cannot be predicted as the marking process here does not follow any standard rule. The essays are usually evaluated on the basis of their overall impact. Two readers; who are either professors or authors are hired to go through the essays and mark them accordingly.
